Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor)

The Culture: Drawn from our proprietary liquid culture, this vigorous Turkey Tail strain aggressively colonizes wood substrates and produces striking, concentric-ringed brackets.

The Profile: A strictly medicinal and functional species. The thin, beautiful fruiting bodies are too tough and leathery for culinary use. Instead, they are harvested, dehydrated, and steeped for extended periods to create potent, earthy teas, or processed into dual-extract tinctures and powders.

History & Benefits: One of the most ubiquitous and historically significant medicinal mushrooms in the world, utilized for centuries in traditional Chinese medicine to clear dampness and boost vitality. Today, Turkey Tail is the source of Polysaccharide-K (PSK) and Polysaccharopeptide (PSP), two of the most heavily researched and clinically utilized mushroom compounds globally. It is unparalleled in its ability to support and modulate the immune system and promote a healthy gut microbiome.

Fruiting Conditions: Highly aggressive and easy to grow. Thrives on hardwood sawdust (HWFP) or natural logs. Prefers fruiting temperatures between 60°F – 75°F.
