Cordyceps (Cordyceps militaris)

The Culture: Drawn from our proprietary liquid culture, this high-yielding Cordyceps strain has been rigorously bred to ensure strong, vibrant orange, club-like fruiting bodies.

The Profile: A highly specialized functional mushroom. While technically edible with a mildly sweet, earthy, and slightly nutty flavor, it is almost exclusively cultivated for functional extracts, performance teas, and wellness supplements.

History & Benefits: Historically, wild Cordyceps (C. sinensis) was harvested from the high Himalayas and reserved strictly for Tibetan and Chinese royalty to combat fatigue. Cordyceps militaris is its sustainably cultivated counterpart, boasting even higher levels of the active compound cordycepin. It is famous among athletes and wellness advocates for its ability to increase ATP production, directly improving cellular energy, oxygen utilization, and physical stamina.

Fruiting Conditions: Uniquely grown on supplemented grain (most commonly brown rice with a nutrient broth) rather than wood or compost. Prefers strict temperature control between 65°F – 68°F and requires full-spectrum light to develop its vibrant orange color and cordycepin content.
