5 lb Sterile Grain Spawn

The perfect foundation for your grow. Choose from whole oats, wheat berries, or a custom blend. We uniquely prepare our grain with vermiculite to provide essential grit and drastically increase inoculation points, ensuring faster and more even mycelial spread. Pressure-sterilized to exact specifications and sealed in front of our flow hoods.

Why Vermiculite?: Most commercial spawn is plain grain. Adding a measured fraction of vermiculite gives the mycelium millions of extra surface-area nucleation sites between grains, dramatically shortening colonization time and reducing the risk of a stalled jar.

Substrate Pairings: A natural fit for any hardwood-loving species — oysters, lion's mane, chestnut, pioppino, shiitake, and chestnut mushrooms. Use directly as spawn, or break and case for bulk production.
