Golden Oyster (Pleurotus citrinopileatus)

The Culture: Drawn from our proprietary liquid culture, this Golden Oyster strain has been selectively bred for dense, vibrant canopy formations and reliable yields.

The Profile: A breathtaking gourmet mushroom that fruits in large, fragile bouquets of brilliant yellow caps. It has a delicate, uniquely nutty flavor—often compared to cashews or roasted almonds—that pairs beautifully with white wine sauces, seafood dishes, and light stir-fries.

History & Benefits: Originally native to the subtropical hardwood forests of eastern Russia, northern China, and Japan. It is highly valued for its dense concentration of lovastatin, a natural compound studied for its ability to help regulate cholesterol levels, alongside a robust profile of B vitamins and antioxidants.

Fruiting Conditions: Thrives on supplemented hardwood sawdust (HWFP) or straw. Prefers warmer fruiting temperatures between 65°F – 75°F with high humidity (85-95%).
