Chicken of the Woods (Laetiporus sulphureus)

The Culture: Drawn from our proprietary liquid culture, this vigorous Chicken of the Woods strain is bred to aggressively colonize natural wood and simulated logs.

The Profile: An absolute legend in the foraging and culinary world. The thick, vibrant orange and yellow brackets possess a remarkably dense, fibrous texture that flawlessly mimics cooked chicken breast. It absorbs marinades beautifully and is perfect for frying, grilling, or adding to hearty curries.

History & Benefits: Traditionally a prized wild-foraged mushroom found on dying oak trees across North America and Europe. It is a fantastic, naturally low-fat, high-protein meat alternative for plant-based diets, packed with potassium, Vitamin C, and immune-supporting polysaccharides.

Fruiting Conditions: Generally grown on sterilized oak logs or highly supplemented hardwood sawdust blocks (HWFP). An advanced species to fruit indoors, preferring high humidity and fruiting temperatures between 65°F – 75°F.
